General Disclaimer

A Planning Aid, Not a Substitute for a Test Print
ScreenPress’s calculators — the ink coverage calculator, the mesh count selector, the squeegee guide, the cure temp/time calculator, the emulsion exposure calculator, and the cost-per-print calculator — are designed to help you plan a job and check your numbers. They do not constitute professional chemical, safety, or engineering advice, and craft/DIY ink chemistry notes on this site are general-safety guidance only, not a substitute for your ink or emulsion manufacturer’s technical data sheet or safety data sheet (SDS). For any production run that matters — a paid job, a large batch, or a new ink or emulsion you haven’t used before — confirm every setting with a small test print first.
Results Are Estimates, Not Guarantees
The tools apply standard formulas and commonly cited screen-printing figures, and round their output for readability. Actual ink use, cure behavior, exposure time, and cost all vary with your specific ink brand, mesh, dryer, light source, and technique, so a displayed value may differ from what you observe on press. Always treat a result as a starting point.
Why a Result May Look Off
A calculator can return a surprising or unusable answer when:
- An input describes an unrealistic setup: for example, a mesh count or ink type combination well outside typical use, or a dryer tunnel length or cure time that doesn't match your actual equipment.
- Defaults don't match your materials: deposit thickness, ink density, and cure temperature all vary by brand and formulation — the calculators use commonly cited figures as defaults, which you can override where the tool allows it.
- Values are negative, zero, or otherwise invalid: dimensions, quantities, and costs must be positive numbers for a calculation to make sense.
